C Vision Classic Burlington Northern V. 1
The Burlington Northern Railroad was the product of a March 2nd, 1970, merger of four major railroads, the Great Northern Railway, Northern Pacific Railway, Spokane, Portland and Seattle Railway and the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad. In this series, we feature the films of Fred Crissey, who traveled to many areas along the BN’s route in the central United States in the late 1970’s and 1980’s with his 8-millimeter movie film camera. Cascade green and black locomotives are seen in such locations as Wyoming’s Wind River Canyon, Montana’s Bozeman and Mullen Pass and Skykomish, Washington. You have to see the action Fred captured while riding in a suburban commuter train between Aurora and Chicago, Illinois when the BN was using their fleet of E-9’s. We finish the show along the Foothills of the Rocky Mountains and follow the old Colorado & Southern and the Fort Worth & Denver between Trinidad, Colorado and Dalhart, Texas. C Vision Classic Chicago & North Western V. 1 “The AlcoLine”
During the remarkable 147-year history of the Chicago and North Western Railroad Company from 1848 to 1995, the railroad fielded a variety of main line and branch line service throughout the Midwest and High Plains region, not to mention several locomotive types to move those trains. A secondary C&NW main line from Chicago ran northwest through Wisconsin, Minnesota, and South Dakota to Pierre, Dakota Territory in 1880. This route was finally completed across South Dakota to Rapid City in 1907. In the late 1970s, many American Locomotive Company units were based at Huron, South Dakota, due to their lightweight and pulling capacity. This specific suitability to the area's light rail and slow speeds established the Pierre to Winona route as the ALCO line. In this video, photographer Fred Crissey follows the ALCO Line between Winona, Minnesota and Pierre, South Dakota, from 1977 to 1981. Also included are the Plainview, Minnesota and Aberdeen to Huron, South Dakota branch lines. This program features awesome ALCO locomotives that include RS2, RSD4, RSD5, RS32, and C425 models along with EMD SD-7R and SD-9's. This is one part of the C&NW that was very unique, but short-lived. Let C. Vision bring these memories into your home for life! Running Time 83 mins. |

C Vision Canadian Pacific's EMD Rebuilds
From 2013 to 2019, Canadian Pacific began an extensive program to update their fleet of aging EMD 4 and six axel power. In this C. Vision Presentation, we will look at these rebuilds in service on CP trains in Minnesota, all prior to the CP and Kansas City Southern merger. Included are SD40 dash 3’s, SD60 dash 3’s, GP20C Eco’s, SD30C Eco’s and SD70ACu’s. The vivid red paint of these newly rebuilt locomotives shines bright for our cameras. Some of which display the Golden Beaver logo. We also caught 6 of the 10 ACu’s painted in CP’s original Tuscan and gray paint scheme. Canadian Pacific painted 5 of the ACu’s honoring Canadian and US military forces. We were able to catch a couple of these locomotives, including CP 7020 that wears North Atlantic Treaty Organization green, and 6644, adorned with the camouflage colors that were applied to Royal Canadian Air Force "Spitfire" fighter planes. You will love the sound of these EMD’s as they tackle several grades in the Twin Cities area such as Short Line Hill, Shoreham Hill and BNSF’s St. Paul Subdivision. With more and more GEVO’s dominating the main lines of the Class One’s, these rebuilds are a great sight to see out on the main lines. Watch these reborn EMD’s work on today’s freight trains in Canadian Pacific’s EMD Rebuilds! Running Time 2 hours |

C Vision Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern Vol 3. The PRC and Black Hills
In our final edition of "A Tribute to the Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern", C. Vision's cameras take you to the far west end of the DM&E system. Beginning in Pierre, we immediately cross the Missouri River to cover the remaining miles of DM&E's mainline to Rapid City, over the infamous PRC Subdivision. You will see trains traveling through the isolated, scenic area along the Bad River between Fort Pierre and Midland, climbing the steep grade of Wall Hill, and traveling through the beautiful Cheyenne River Valley, near Wasta. Next, we will take a brief look at a portion of the old "Cowboy Line", between Chadron and Crawford, Nebraska, now being operated by the Nebraska Northwestern Railroad. Last, but certainly not least, we will explore the Black Hills Subdivision from Dakota Junction, Nebraska to Colony, Wyoming. While in South Dakota, this route follows the eastern edge of the Black Hills from one end to the other, making it one of most scenic stretches of railroad in the state. Bentonite is this railroad's lifeblood, and we see many trains of the heavy clay operating across the hilly terrain of western South Dakota, with everything from SD7's, to SD40-2's. With coverage beginning in 1991, and extending into the Canadian Pacific era, this program brings you the complete DM&E story, showcasing the many changes that have occurred since the railroad came into existence in 1986. C Vision Into the North Woods Exploring Wisconsin Central Branch Lines
In Northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Wisconsin Central freights operated over a network of secondary routes and branch lines to serve the industries of this remote area. While one could easily view many more trains on the main line, our goal was Wisconsin Central's final summer. We invite you to join us as videographer Dan Hadley ventures out into the north woods in search of the essential Wisconsin Central. Wisconsin Central’s eclectic collection of locomotives are evident in this show as many of their 4 axle units polish the rails of these secondary lines. C Vision Staples Sub EMD's Vol 2.
Modern railroading in the late twenty teens into 2020, Class One railroads were well supplied with a plethora of modern GE locomotives for use on their main line trains. This is especially true for the BNSF. However, along the Staples Sub in Minnesota, where C. Vision is based, BNSF ran several trains with older EMD’s on occasion. With footage from 2019 to 2020, we follow eastbound trains led with these classics from Philbrook to Coon Rapids, Minnesota. We even get a chance to see some rarities from the mid 20 teens. A huge variety of 4 and 6 axle EMD’s can be seen on both local and road freights. Other trains that used these locomotives are grain and oil trains. Santa Fe and Burlington Northern colors still adorned several locomotives while many are now dressed in new BNSF black and orange. Plenty of foreign power found its way on BNSF trains, including a surviving CSX SD50-2! Some of the 4 axle models we see are GP38-2’s, GP39-3’s, GP50’s, GP60’s, GP60M-3’s just to name a few. 6 axle models include SD40-2’s, SD60M’s, SD70MAC’s, SD70MACe’s, SD75i’s and more! C Vision The Milwaukee Rd in the Midwest V. 2
The Milwaukee Road was a Class One railroad that operated until 1986. The Milwaukee had most of its presence in the Midwest with many branch lines and secondary routes. This classic railroad sported many different locomotives on its roster and played an important part in the Midwest economy. Photographer Fred Crissey captured several Midwestern Milwaukee Road lines in the 1970's, and in Volume 2 of The Milwaukee Road, C. Vision features Fred's films in Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota and North Dakota. Enjoy the sites of trains on Milwaukee's main line from Montevideo, Minnesota to Hettinger, North Dakota along with the New England Line. Fred even captures Milwaukee Road's Bicentennial painted SD-40 dash two as it leads a train across northeastern South Dakota! Then we view several scenes of Milwaukee Road trains running via trackage rights on the ex-Northern Pacific's Skally Line from Superior, Wisconsin south toward the Twin Cities of Minnesota. Then several trains are seen around St. Paul and St. Croix Tower in Minnesota along with the branch to Stillwater, Minnesota and the main line along the Mississippi River! Also, trains encounter the tunnel at Tunnel City, Wisconsin. Finally, we view Milwaukee's Rapid City line from Mitchell to Murdo, South Dakota. Great Milwaukee Road action is here for you to enjoy in C. Vision Productions "The Milwaukee Road, Volume 2." Running Time 87 min. |

C Vision Trains Across the Midwest, V. 7
Throughout the United States, railroading is colorful and exciting, with the Midwest being no exception. C. Vision Productions continues its look at great railroad action within this diverse region in "Trains Across the Midwest, Volume 7". In this installment, we will view trains operating through four states. First, we travel to Kansas to view operations on the Kyle Railroad. We were on the hunt for the road's former Southern Pacific SD45T-2s, and were rewarded on several occasions. The deep bass and growl of these units is something to behold! Next, we drop down to BNSF's La Junta Sub in western Kansas and eastern Colorado to see a few trains bouncing across the plains over the route's increasingly rough jointed rail. We then travel to the Iron Range of northeastern Minnesota to view DM&IR, CN, Cliffs Erie's former LTV operation, and BNSF trains during several beautiful fall days during the years of 2004 and 2010. We then head south to BNSF's Staples Subdivision to view some select trains with classic motive power. A freshly rebuilt SD45-2 and a GP50 make separate appearances leading trains in this segment. Next, we head for North Dakota to view action on the former GN secondary route between Fargo and Minot via Grand Forks across the Hillsboro and Devils Lake Subdivisions. Older EMD power, former GN signals, code line, and some high-speed jointed rail, make for some exciting scenes. Before heading to Minnesota, we briefly cover the Jamestown Sub in eastern North Dakota, viewing a few more trains with interesting EMD power. Next, we take a sampling of trains on the Morris, Marshall, and Wayzata Subdivisions to round out the show. Several scenes of former Oakway SD60s in their final months of service on BNSF are also included. If you like older railroad infrastructure, EMD 645-powered locomotives, or just Midwest railroading, you'll love this program. Enjoy it all, in "Trains Across the Midwest, Volume 7". C Vision Twin Cities Mainline EMD's Vol 1.
The rail network in the Twin Cities area of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota hosts key routes to and from Chicago, Kansas City, ports in the Pacific Northwest and Canada. BNSF, Canadian Pacific, Canadian National and Union Pacific are the major players here. Many trains travel through the area, but the most unique trains are led with EMD locomotives. Most of which no longer exist or are on their way to retirement. In the next two hours, you will be treated to some phenomenal trains! Volume 1 of Twin Cities Mainline EMDs covers the BNSF’s St. Paul and Midway Subdivisions. The St. Paul Sub is a combination of former CB&Q, Northern Pacific and Milwaukee Road routes from St. Croix Tower near Hastings, Minnesota to University Junction which is adjacent to Northtown Yard in Minneapolis. This line also hosts traffic from the Canadian Pacific, Union Pacific, and Twin Cities and Western. The Midway Subdivision is a former Great Northern Route that has access to an intermodal facility at BNSF's Midway Yard and has a connection to the Minnesota Commercial. It is also a main route for eastbound CP trains to access St. Paul Yard from the Paynesville Sub that runs west out of the Twin Cities. Union Pacific also uses this line for access to its East Minneapolis Yard. Some of this footage was captured during the North Dakota oil boom years, which resulted in all railroads using whatever they had to keep up with demand. There were so many different EMD models that we captured from the years 2012 to 2023, you’ll have to watch to believe it! If you are a fan of the Twin Cities rail scene, and EMD locomotives, you must have Twin Cities Mainline EMDs, Volume 1 in your collection! Running Time 120 Min. |
